In the past few years we had some Star Wars games, but they mostly focused on the multiplayer aspect. What makes Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order great is the fact that this is a single player experience, and a great one at that. You get to play the role of a Jedi named Cal Kestis and you need to do everything you can in order to step away from his current mundane tasks in order to try and go through the galaxy and complete his training. He does that while also being targeted by the Galactic Empire and trying to rebuild the fallen Jedi order.
The story itself is very immersive, but where Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order really shines is the gameplay. The game is a third person action adventure and a Metroidvania progression and exploration system. You will need to explore multiple worlds and solve a variety of quests in the idea of trying to win and really push yourself and your skills to the next level. The game slowly teaches you how to play, and you get to learn new skills as you go alone.
The questline is not very hard, it blends well into the story and you will find yourself engaged into the experience through and through. As you progress into the game, you will be able to access new abilities. These are learned naturally, nothing feels forced, and the game continues to offer you new ways to access locations. It’s even possible to upgrade abilities once you acquire them, which brings in front a vast array of benefits.
It’s also nice that the developers added a droid companion, which can actually come in handy as you play, since he can assist you with puzzles and provide you with health regen and other great stuff. The game also has a meditation arena where you can complete challenges, fight against waves of enemies and so on. Everything is robust, it makes sense since you play a Jedi, so it’s just a complete Star Wars adventure everyone will love.
How long is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order?
When you play a game like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, you want to enjoy a deep, amazing experience. Thankfully, the game has around 25 hours of gameplay if you look everywhere and explore the entire world. If you just want to focus on the story, it will be 15 hours, more or less. That’s quite good for a story driven game, and the best thing is that it never gets boring.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order looks amazing, despite using an older engine from Respawn Entertainment. We get to explore many amazing planets, and there are a variety of amazing world designs. The character design is amazing, and we also like the attention to detail or outstanding animations. Everything flows together well to create a wonderful, enriching world.
If you are passionate about Star Wars or just want to play a good, story driven game, then Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is totally worth your time and effort. It’s very creative, it comes up with a vast range of cool ideas, without being monotonous. Instead, it constantly allows you to explore the world and it’s very satisfying to play.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order — Update
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order did receive some free additional content, New Game Plus mode as well as Combat Challenges and few other things (available on other platforms too).
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is amazing to play, for now one of the best single player experience, lore and background stories are great, design and combat mechanics are enjoyable, puzzles are well thoughts.
One the other hand, it is always the same things, as much as I liked the characters in this one, I enjoyed more Knights of the Fallen Empire.
